Reliance Jio brings a new version of the Optical Network Terminal (ONT) device “Gigahub Home Gateway” to the Jio GigaFiber broadband service, and the required margin is only Rs. 2,500 yuan. This is the rupee. The rupee’s margin is 2,000 lower. The original ONT device is 4,500. The new Jio GigaFiber ONT is not as good as the original device, it is said to be just a single-frequency router. However, the Jio GigaFiber broadband service on the new device is clearly identical to the service provided by the existing GitHub Home Gateway.

Although Jio GigaFiber has not seen the launch of Pan-India, it is reported that customers in cities such as Chennai and Mumbai can now receive services by paying Rs deposits. 2,500 – Can be refunded, just like the early rupees. 4,500 margin. According to Twitter user Preshit Deorukhkar, the router that comes with the new version does provide Internet access, but with single-band support, the speed is limited to 50Mbps. According to reports, voice services are also bundled with new products.

According to Deorukhkar, the new ONT device only supports 2.4GHz b / g / n Wi-Fi, not the 5GHz Wi-Fi band. In addition, the Ethernet port on the device is 10/100 instead of 10/100/1000 (gigabit). It is said to be 9×5 inches in size and in black. The device also includes three RJ45s, one RJ11 and one USB 2.0 port on the back.

It is worth noting that the early ONT devices that Reliance Jio called the GigaFiber Home Gateway supported dual-band connections at 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz and were able to provide 1 Gbps speed, but the current plan is limited to 100 Mbps.

Despite being bundled with a limited router, the new version of the Jio GigaFiber service provides 1,100GB of free data access per month. One of the early adopters of the new version has already pointed out on the DreamDTH forum that the new product can also access the Jio TV app.

It is not clear whether the latest development will exist with the original Rs. The 4,500 models were launched in August last year and are expected to be launched in India in the coming months. Users of previous models complained about the delay in the delay of voice services on the JioGigaFiber connection, and they have been considered bundled with the new model. However, the company does start offering fixed-line phones to some of the existing Jio GigaFiber customers.
