Back in 2016, Amazon launched Kindle Oasis, the company’s premium e-book reader with a dedicated page-turning button. Last year, the device was upgraded and the company launched the second generation Kindle Oasis.
Now, Amazon has launched the third-generation Kindle Oasis in India, which comes with a 7-inch display, adjustable nighttime color temperature, and more. It is now available for pre-order through Amazon India and will begin sales on August 19.
The new Kindle Oasis features a 7-inch glare-free white paper display with a pixel density of 300 ppi. The company said it uses the latest electronic ink technology with 25 LEDs in front for color adjustment.
For night reading, you can change the display tone to a warmer color to ensure it does not cause eye strain. In the daytime, the hue can be set too cool. In addition, you can automatically set up an eBook reader to adjust colors based on sunset and sunrise.
It measures 159 x 141 x 3.4-8.3 mm and weighs 194 grams. It has two storage variants – -8GB and 32GB, and users get free cloud storage for all Amazon content. Connection options include Wi-Fi 802.11n and optional 4G, and support Kindle Format 8 (AZW3), Kindle (AZW), TXT, PDF and other formats.
The unit is also IPX8 rated to prevent up to 2 meters of fresh water soaking for up to 60 minutes. In addition, users can adjust the text size and bold, and read it using Kindle-specific fonts for maximum readability. As usual, this new Kindle Oasis provides weeks of battery life on a single charge.
The new Kindle Oasis is priced at Rs. The 8GB Graphite version and Rs are 21,999 (~$316). 32GB WiFi champagne gold version 24,999 (about 359 US dollars). On the other hand, the cost of the 32GB WiFi + 4G Graphite version is Rs. 28,999 (about $ 416).
